In the space below, make a large drawing of the leaf exactly as it appears in Fig. 2.1.

Draw a straight line on the photograph so that A and B are joined. Measure this line and record its length.

On your drawing, draw a line in the same position as the line A-B. Measure and record the length of this line.

(b(iii))[2]

Use the measurements from (b)(i) and (b)(ii) to calculate the magnification of your drawing relative to the photograph. Give your answer to 1 decimal place.

Fig. 2.2 shows a photograph of a leaf from a sweet potato plant. Describe one visible difference and one visible similarity in the structure of the potato leaf in Fig. 2.1 and the sweet potato leaf in Fig. 2.2.
