This question concerns the magnetic fields around bar magnets. Fig. 7.1 shows two positions that a student uses in an experiment.

On Fig. 7.2, draw lines to represent the pattern of the magnetic field produced by magnet 1. Put arrows on the lines to indicate the field direction.

On Fig. 7.3, draw a line with an arrow at the right-hand end of position 1 to indicate the direction of the magnetic field produced by magnet 2.

(c(i))[1]

State the direction of the force that the N pole of magnet 2 exerts on the N pole of magnet 1.

(c(ii))[1]

Justify the answer you gave in (c)(i).
