Fig. 3.1 shows water in a river flowing parallel to the river bank at 4.0 m/s, while a canoe is moving in the river. The canoe moves at 2.5 m/s relative to the water and is directed at an angle of $38^\circ$ to the river bank.

Use a scale diagram to find the canoe’s resultant velocity and make clear the scale that was used. Determine the magnitude of the resultant velocity and the direction of the resultant velocity (measured as an angle from the river bank).
