Motion — practice question

Fig. 1.1 gives the axes for a distance-time graph of an object travelling in a straight line.
(a(i))[2]

On Fig. 1.1, draw the graph for an object moving at a constant speed of $5.0\,\text{m s}^{-1}$ from time = $0$ to time = $10\,\text{s}$. Begin at distance = $0\,\text{m}$. State the feature of the graph that shows speed.

(a(ii))[2]

Calculate the average acceleration from time = $10\,\text{s}$ to time = $20\,\text{s}$.

(b(i))[2]

The object starts with speed $50\,\text{m s}^{-1}$ and undergoes uniform deceleration of $0.35\,\text{m s}^{-2}$ for $100\,\text{s}$. On Fig. 1.2, draw the graph that represents the object's motion.

(b(ii))[3]

Calculate the distance travelled by the object from time = $0$ to time = $100\,\text{s}$.
