Momentum — practice question

Fig. 3.1 depicts a collision at very low speed involving two cars moving along a straight road. Car B, with mass 800 kg, is travelling at $2.0\,\text{m s}^{-1}$ and hits car A, which has mass 1000 kg and is at rest. Following the collision, both cars continue in the same direction as car B was initially moving.
(a)[3]

Show that the speed of car B after the collision is approximately $0.4\,\text{m s}^{-1}$.

(b(i))[2]

Calculate the impulse exerted by car A on car B.

(b(ii))[1]

State the impulse exerted by car B on car A.
