Fig. 5.1 illustrates a road junction with a car in motion and a truck that is not moving; the road is bordered by high walls on both sides. Fig. 5.2 illustrates a plane mirror positioned at the junction. Fig. 5.3 illustrates a blurred image of object O forming on the retina of a long-sighted eye, and the diagram names lens, cornea and retina. Fig. 5.4 shows the eye before the extra rays have been completed.
