Fig. 6.1 depicts a mirror periscope. Its two plane mirrors are each set at an angle of 45^{\circ} to the vertical.

On Fig. 6.1: 1. Extend the ray of light from the golfer to the upper mirror of the periscope. 2. Add and label the normal where the ray meets the mirror.

On Fig. 6.1, carry the ray onward after reflection at the upper mirror until it emerges from the periscope.

State the law of reflection used to work out the direction of the light ray after it strikes the mirrors.
