A student is working with the apparatus shown in Fig. 12.1.
The student pushes the magnet to the right into the coil and then keeps the magnet still for a few seconds. The pointer swings to the right and then comes back to the centre.
Next, the student pulls the magnet to the left until it is fully outside the coil and then moves it farther away from the coil.
