Electromagnetic effects — practice question

Two vertical straight wires X and Y pass through holes in a horizontal card. Fig. 8.1 shows the card as seen from above. Each wire carries a current downward (into the page).

The magnetic field at Y produced by the current in X causes a force on Y. Put a tick in each relevant blank column of the table to show the direction of this magnetic field and the direction of the force. The rows in the table are: towards the top of the page; towards the bottom of the page; to the left; to the right; into the page; out of the page. The columns are magnetic field at Y and force on Y.
