Representation of data — practice question
The uniform lamina $OABCD$ is formed from a semicircle $BCD$ of radius $0.6\,\text{m}$ with centre $O$, together with an isosceles triangle $OAB$ attached along $OB$ (see diagram). The area of the triangle is $0.36\,\text{m}^2$ and $AB = AO$.
(i)[4]
Show that the lamina's centre of mass lies on $OB$.
(ii)[4]
Calculate the distance from $O$ to the lamina's centre of mass.
Worked solution & mark scheme
