Representation of data — practice question

A particle is fired from a point $O$ on level ground. Its initial velocity has components of $10\text{ m s}^{-1}$ in the horizontal direction and $15\text{ m s}^{-1}$ vertically upward. After $t$ s from projection, the particle is displaced by $x$ m horizontally and by $y$ m vertically upwards from $O$.
(i)[4]

Express $x$ and $y$ in terms of $t$, and hence determine the equation of the trajectory of the particle.

(ii)[2]

Show that $d < 30$.

(iii)[2]

Find the value of $x$ when the particle is $14\text{ m}$ below the level of $O$.
