Probability — practice question

A particle $P$ has mass $0.1\,\text{kg}$ and is connected to one end of a light inextensible string of length $0.5\,\text{m}$. The opposite end of the string is fastened to a fixed point $A$. Particle $P$ travels in a circle with centre $O$ on a smooth horizontal surface that is $0.3\,\text{m}$ below $A$. The string tension has magnitude $T\,\text{N}$, and the magnitude of the force from the surface acting on $P$ is $R\,\text{N}$.
(i)[4]

With $P$ travelling at $1.5\,\text{m s}^{-1}$, calculate $T$ and $R$.

(ii)[4]

With the additional condition $T = R$, calculate the angular speed of $P$.
